At North Star Christmas Trees, we’re committed to your satisfaction whether you buy in person or schedule delivery to your home. Because we work with fresh, natural products and time-sensitive services, our policies differ slightly for Retail Lot and Home Delivery purchases.
🎄 1. Retail Lot Purchases (In-Person Sales)
Fresh Trees and Wreaths
- All tree and wreath sales at our retail locations are final once taken from the lot.
- Please inspect your tree carefully before purchase. Our staff can trim the trunk and wrap it for transport to help preserve freshness.
Accessories and Non-Perishable Items
- Tree stands, lights, and décor may be exchanged or refunded within 7 days of purchase if unused, in original packaging, and accompanied by a receipt.
🚚 2. Home Delivery & Setup Orders
Tree Order Cancellations
- Due to limited seasonal availability and early harvest scheduling, trees sized 9 ft and above are non-refundable after November 20.
- For all other sizes: Full refunds are available for cancellations made on or before December 5.
- After December 5, refunds will be at the discretion of North Star Christmas Trees, based on inventory and delivery routing status.
Delivery Fees
- Delivery fees are fully refundable up to 48 hours before your scheduled delivery date.
- If the driver attempts delivery but no one is home or access is not available, the delivery fee becomes non-refundable. A redelivery may incur an additional charge.
Setup and Removal Service FEES
- Setup and removal fees may be cancelled at any time prior to the scheduled service for a full refund.
- Once the service has been completed or the crew has been dispatched, fees are non-refundable.

- Our goal is to ensure you are completely satisfied with our product and service. If the tree you receive is unsatisfactory for any reason, please notify the delivery crew prior to their departure so that we may understand the nature of the concern and discuss available options.
- At North Star Christmas Trees, we guarantee to deliver the freshest, healthiest Christmas tree humanly possible — carefully selected, cut, and transported to preserve its natural beauty, fragrance, and moisture.
- Because every tree is a living product, natural variations in shape, density, and branch spacing are expected. Small gaps, lighter areas, or uneven growth are part of a real tree’s character and not considered defects.
- Once a tree is delivered and placed inside your home, its freshness and needle retention are influenced by conditions beyond our control, including room temperature, humidity, sunlight exposure, proximity to heating vents, and how quickly the trunk is placed in water. Each tree absorbs moisture differently depending on its natural sap flow and harvest timing.
- On average, a well-cared-for tree will remain fresh indoors for approximately 20 days before showing signs of significant needle or branch drop.
- Customers receiving delivery before December 5 should understand that their tree may begin to show natural signs of drying before Christmas, depending on household conditions and watering habits.
- While we cannot guarantee how long a tree will retain its needles after delivery, we stand fully behind its freshness and quality at the time of delivery.
- If your tree appears unsatisfactory when it arrives, please notify our crew before they depart so we can understand the concern and discuss available options.
🌲 How to Test for Freshness
- You can easily test the freshness of your tree using two simple methods:
- Branch Slide Test
Gently grasp a branch in your hand and let it slide through your fingers with light pressure.
A fresh tree may release a few loose needles, but should not shed handfuls or feel brittle. - Bend Test
Take the tip of a small branch and wrap it carefully around your index finger.
A fresh, well-hydrated tree will bend easily without snapping.
If branches break or crack sharply, the tree has begun to dry.

- Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within 5–7 business days after approval.
- All online payments are securely processed through Clover Payments (Fiserv); North Star does not store card information.
